If you've see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, you will have seen how pretty the Forest can look in the snow. We visited our cottage for a couple of days at the end of February 2010. On the trip down, we went through blizzard conditions which left the Forest of Dean looking exceptionally pretty.
Our cottage is not currently open for letting in winter (but that could change, please enquire if you are interested) but the pictures are worth viewing for their own sake.
We of course took our dog, Poppy who you can see in some of the pictures. We also had to take Misty, our Siamese cat, who loves walks in the Forest! But snow is not the weather for a thin-coated Siamese. She kept on getting down, taking a few steps, finding it too cold so back in my coat from where she could watch the forest snow in comfort. But we simply had to take her to appease her - see Our cats and dog: a blog.
