The hamlet of Green Bottom is effectively a clearing within the north east corner of the Royal Forest of Dean, so it is surrounded by public access woodland. However, being near the edge of the Forest, the many footpaths from the hamlet are not all woodland walks. Local footpaths to the east are through woods, pasture land, valleys, over hills and along streamsides.
